UCS 3 Baillieston Villa 6

Bankies were slow in starting in this Faifley league match and were made to pay as Villa raced into a two goal lead inside 15 minutes.

UCS battled back into the game and McInally saw a good effort rebound off the bar. The Bankies pulled a goal back when Mooney won posession and fed McInally who put Gillan through to fire past the keeper.

McInally had another good chance before Villa grabbed a third, a long ball beat the back line and the striker raced through to put past Steven. It was 4-1 after 40 minutes, Harkin conceding a penalty and then having to be stretchered off before the kick was converted. Stuart Graham replaced him.

Graham was straight into the action, pulling a goal back after chasing a lost cause, rounding the keeper and slotting home.

This gave Bankies a boost going into half time.

Bankies worked hard to get another goal but some missed chances let them down. Villa were quick on the break and Steven had a couple of good saves, whilst another effort came back off the post.

Fraser Urquhart and Graham combined for Fraser to run through and beat the keeper to make it 4-3 with 22 minutes left.

Bankies pushed hard after this but couldn't beat the keeper who pulled off two great saves. Villa were still dangerous on the break.

With 5 minutes to go, and Bankies pushing - Villa sealed the game with a close range effort. Steven picked up a knock then and was replaced by Dunbar in goal while Ross Cummings came on for Graeme Urquhart as Bankies tried to get something back.

The game was finally over for Bankies in the 89th minute when a long ball left Dunbar exposed and the striker netted to put an unfair reflection on the match.
