Clydebank Supporters AFC 6 UCS 1 Many changes were made for this clash with Clydebank Supporters AFC - the current Supporters League Champions. Davey Steven became the fourth keeper of the season and he was made to work hard in this one. With no referee to start, UCS' Alan Hussey stepped into get the game going and he was in charge for the first 26 minutes. Steven had already had one good save by this point and the Supporters had missed two of their gilt-edged chances as their experience shown through at times. It was just as the referee turned up that the supporters took the lead, a free header from a corner. By that point Gary McLaren had missed a good chance. It was McLaren who was to level though lobbing the keeper after fine through ball from McInally had split the Supporters defence open with ten minutes to the break. Ross Cummings had a good chance to give UCS the lead but fired wide after a fine knockdown from Edmonds. No changes were made at half time with all the talk about keeping it tight and simple. 5 minutes into the half and we were three - one down after some dissappointing ball play. It was one way traffic at this point, the supporters grabbing another goal. A few changes were made and UCS played some good attacking play with Gillan and Mooney linking up well, but at the other end conceded a further twice, once from the penalty spot after Brodie gave away a needless spot kick. With the league ten days away, UCS have alot of hard work to put in defensively if they want to get anywhere. Team; Steven, Duncanson, G. Urquhart, McNeil, Kilkenny, O'Brien, McInally, Edmonds, McLaren, R. Cummings, Gillan - Subs used; Hussey, Brodie, Mooney, Biggar, Bossley & Cairns. |
