Dundee Athletic 2 UCS 2 The Bankies travelled to Fife with healthy numbers for this clash with Dundee Athletic at St. Andrews University. Following last weeks' 7-2 defeat there was a few changes as improvement was looked for all round. Graeme Urquhart made his full debut along with David Bossley. From the off - it did look much improved with UCS knocking the ball about well at times while the back 4 swept everything up when Dundee went forward. Ross Cummings gave UCS the lead with his second goal in two games, shooting past the keeper after a fine through ball. Both sides had chances after this as Dundee attacked more and more but Muir pulled off a few good saves. McInally had a good chance at the other end but couldn't get his foot round the ball. A silly challenge by Craig Biggar got Dundee back into the game when he conceded a penalty and Muir was sent the wrong way from the spot. Athletic then took the lead after some poor defending and Muir had no chance when the shot from the edge of the box flew in and half time then came. There was a few subs at half time as Bankies looked to get back into it. Fraser Urquhart, Stuart Graham and Lawrie McGarvey replaced Bossley, Paul Mooney and Frank Hotchkiss. Bankies attacked and Fraser was getting lots of joy on the right but the end product just couldn't be found. Davey Steven and Kevin Brodie came on for Graeme Urquhart and Craig Biggar. Gavin Hinde and gaffer Paul Cummings replaced Steven and Ross Cummings before Eddie Cairns came on for McInally and John Dunbar replaced Muir. Cummings had a looping header saved and McGarvey had a shot charged down and Bankies won a number of corners. Dundee also looked sharp on the break but Muir wasn't really worked. Bankies then went 343 knowing that they were still in the game, with Urquhart playing up front and Kilkenny moving into midfield. With seven minutes left the equaliser came. Urquhart and McGarvey combined and a cross was bundeled home by Gavin Hinde with the assitance of Cummings. Dunbar had a save just after this as Dundee attacked once more. In the end a draw was a fair result in a cracking game played in a good spirit and at a good tempo. Bankies now have big workouts against Clydebank United on Thursday (Yoker Sports Centre, 7pm) and Clydebank Thistle on Saturday (10am) at the Donald Dewar Centre.
