Stow Hearts 2 UCS 1

The first win of the league season still eludes the Bankies despite leading their hosts iuntil the 67th minute on Saturday.

Clydebank opened well and quickly settled at Glasgow Green, venue for the previous three matches.

The lead came on 20 minutes. A throw on the right was knocked on by kilkenny at the front post and McInally nipped in between defender and marker to head home.

The hosts had a header cleared off the line by Mooney on the stroke of halftime.

The second half saw Stow with alot of posession an they switched to three up front as they looked to get back into the.

Eventually they did albeit in controversial circumstances on 67 minutes. Stow split the Bankies defence wide open and hussey tripped the striker on the edge of the d however the striker stayed on his feet long enough to fire an effort which Eldred did well to save before collapsing and to everyone's astonishment the ref gave a penalty despite the offence clearly happening well outside the box.

After a stoppage which saw Eldred receive treatment, Hearts levelled and Bankies heads sunk.

A few minutes later and Hearts were in front with Eldred being lobbed wit the scorer looking to be in an offside position.

Bankies battled back and Edmonds burst through but opted to pass to the injured Steven rather than shoot and the chance was lost.
